Green dog urinates on ALP sign

On Council election day in Cessnock Greens candidate James Ryan’s kelpie dog, Jack, escaped from the family backyard and made his way to the nearby polling booth.

At approximately 7.30am as booth workers were gathering in anticipation of a busy day ahead. Jack the dog was very friendly in greeting people however he selected an ALP election sign on which to ‘mark his territory’.

Luckily Jack was retreived by family members and taken home.

A prominent local ALP member is reported to have told the Kurri Kurri Retired Mineworkers meeting on the following Monday that the incident had proved something to those people who said the ALP wasn’t good enough to piss on!
Greens members James Ryan said ‘ We have always left it up to Jack to make up his own mind with regard to which political party he supports.’
